I find a foot pedal is really important to continually vary the brightness of the sound (low pass filter if using a analog synth engine). You can get a lot of expression by manipulating the pedal while changing the resonance control to vary the brightness & harmonic content.

I'm currently finalising production models of both the CC pedal and breath controller.  

You can also articulate the brightness using breath pressure. Fantastic for wind instrument type sounds, rhythmic chordal work and lots more.......
